What to write to us about

A correction

If you think a page is wrong, tell us. Include the address of the page and the source that shows the error, such as an IRS publication, form instructions or a notice, with the tax year it applies to. We check the source and fix the page if it holds up. How we handle errors is described in the editorial policy.

A question about what a page says

If a passage is unclear or seems to contradict another page, write to us and quote the sentence. We can explain what we meant and, if the wording is the problem, rewrite it.

A factual correction about your own product

If you work for an exchange or a tax software company and a page states something wrong about your product, send us the correct fact with a public source we can check, such as your help center or a published fee schedule. The same criteria apply to every product, so we correct facts but do not change a verdict on request.
