Who we are

CoinReckon is an independent US crypto tax information site at coinreckon.com. Questions about this policy go to [email protected]. That address is the only way to contact us: there is no phone line and no office open to visitors.

What we collect

Nothing, on purpose. The site has no accounts, no comments, no newsletter and no contact form. We run no analytics and no advertising, and we use no tracking pixels. We do not build profiles of readers.

The calculators

The calculators under /taxes/calculators/ run entirely in your browser. The figures you type in are not sent to us or to anyone else, and they are not stored. Close the page and they are gone. This holds for all five calculators, so you can enter real numbers from your records without worrying about where they go.

Email you send us

If you write to [email protected], we use your message to reply. If your message reports an error on a page, we also use it to fix that page. We do not use your address for anything else, and we do not add it to a mailing list. We keep correspondence for up to 24 months after the last message, then delete it.

Technical request data

Every website is delivered by a web server, and web servers generally record standard technical request data. This can include your IP address, your browser type and the page you asked for. The server that delivers coinreckon.com may do the same. We do not add any tracking of our own on top of that, and the pages contain no scripts that report your visit to another party. Server logs are used only for security and troubleshooting, are not combined with anything else, and are kept for no more than 30 days.

The site sets no cookies of its own. It uses no analytics cookies and no advertising cookies. It loads no third-party content that sets cookies. Fonts are hosted on the site itself, so your browser makes no request to a font service when a page loads.

Because there is nothing to consent to, there is no cookie banner. If that ever changes, this section will change first, and a consent mechanism will be in place before any cookie is set.

Our pages link to the IRS, to exchanges and to tax software vendors. Once you leave coinreckon.com, the privacy policy of the site you visit applies. We do not control what those sites collect. At launch, nobody pays us for these links: they are ordinary editorial links.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we change it on this page. Read the current version here before relying on it.

Your rights

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it and ask us to delete it. In practice that means the emails you sent us. We answer every such request, wherever you live, within 30 days. If a privacy law gives you further rights, such as the GDPR in the European Union and the United Kingdom or the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have them here too, to the extent that law applies to us.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
