Terms of Use

Using this site means accepting these terms

By reading CoinReckon or using its calculators, you agree to the terms on this page. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Information only, not advice

CoinReckon explains US federal crypto taxes, Form 1099-DA and selected state rules. It is information, not tax, legal or financial advice. Reading the site does not create a professional or client relationship between you and us. Our full statement is on the disclaimer page. For your own return, talk to a qualified tax professional.

Calculators

The calculators give estimates based on the figures you type in. They do not produce a filed return, and they do not replace one. You are responsible for the figures you report to the IRS. The calculators run in your browser. What you type is not sent anywhere and is not stored.

Accuracy and dates

Each tax page states the tax year it covers. Tax rules change, and a page can fall behind. We cite primary sources and identify incomplete or conflicting evidence, and we correct confirmed errors. How we do that is described in the editorial policy. We do not warrant that every page is current, complete or free of mistakes. Check the tax year on the page and the cited source before you rely on a figure.

Our content

The text on CoinReckon belongs to CoinReckon. You may quote a short passage if you link back to the page you took it from. You may not copy pages or large parts of them and publish them as your own.

We link to other sites, mostly official sources such as the IRS. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what they say or do.

There are no affiliate links on the site at launch. Links to tax software and exchanges are ordinary editorial links, and nobody pays for them. If that changes, we will say so on the disclosures page.

Acceptable use

Do not try to disrupt or overload the site, and do not use automated tools to copy it in bulk. Ordinary reading, printing and sharing a link are always fine.

Limitation of liability

We provide the site as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, CoinReckon is not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using the site or relying on what it says, including a tax bill, a penalty, interest or an error in a calculator estimate. Your decisions about your own taxes are yours.

Complaints and disputes

If something on the site has gone wrong for you, write to us first at [email protected]. We reply within 30 days, and most problems end there: a page gets corrected or a question gets answered. These terms do not take away any rights you have under the consumer protection law of the place where you live.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, the change will appear on this page. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the updated terms.
