For tax year 2025, Binance.US says it provides Form 1099-DA after a sale, exchange, or spend of digital assets regardless of the amount. Buying and holding alone does not qualify.

The form concerns 2025 activity, while customers receive or download it in 2026.

This page focuses on the issuer's stated policy and the records needed to check a document. For a short overview of what the form contains, see what a 1099-DA reports.

Does Binance.US issue a 1099-DA for 2025?

Binance.US states that a 2025 Form 1099-DA follows a sale, exchange, or spend, with no dollar minimum in that general statement. A customer who only bought and held assets in the account does not qualify under that policy because no listed disposition occurred. This does not turn every small activity into an exception.

The issuer also describes separate methods for certain stablecoin and NFT activity. A specific stablecoin with total annual sales under $10,000 need not be reported under the issuer's stated treatment, and Binance.US describes a $600 annual NFT reporting threshold. Those thresholds have their own scope.

They do not replace the general any-amount statement for every digital-asset sale, exchange, or spend.

2025 account activity Issuer's stated form outcome Exception or source-record check
Sale, exchange, or spend Form 1099-DA after activity of any amount Compare the form with the transaction report and sale records
Buy-and-hold only No Form 1099-DA under the stated disposition policy Check for activity elsewhere in the account or another platform
Qualifying stablecoin activity The issuer describes an exception for a specific stablecoin with annual sales under $10,000 Apply only to the stated stablecoin and method; do not generalize it to all assets
Specified NFT activity The issuer describes a $600 annual NFT reporting threshold Keep the NFT threshold separate from ordinary disposition reporting

Which document am I looking for?

Use this decision aid before treating a missing document as an error:

  1. Did you sell, exchange, or spend digital assets in Binance.US during 2025?
    • Yes: Look for Form 1099-DA and compare it with your transaction history.
    • No: A 1099-DA is not expected from the issuer's buy-and-hold exclusion.
  2. Was the activity within the issuer's described stablecoin or NFT exception?
    • Yes: Check the specific stablecoin scope, the under-$10,000 annual stablecoin condition, or the $600 NFT threshold.
    • No: Continue with the ordinary disposition review.
  3. Did you receive qualifying income rather than dispose of an asset?
    • Yes: Check whether a separate Form 1099-MISC applies.
    • No: Use your account records to investigate the missing or inconsistent 1099-DA.
  4. Does the situation fit none of these documented cases?
    • Treat it as a case not documented by the issuer and take the records to Binance.US tax support.

Where and when to find the form

In the Binance.US mobile app, open Profile, then Reports, Tax Reports, and Tax. Choose 2025, select Form 1099-DA under Select Form Type, choose Generate, and download the PDF.

The documented web route is to sign in, open Export Reports, and select Tax Reports. Binance.US describes PDF or CSV export there. Its web example names 1099-MISC, so that example does not establish a separate 1099-DA selection step on the website.

Use the app path for the documented 2025 PDF route.

Binance.US described the 2025 form as downloadable from early February 2026 in its blog and before mid-February in its Help Center. The general IRS furnishing deadline for tax-year-2025 Form 1099-DA was February 17, 2026. That IRS deadline is separate from Binance.US's stated availability description.

What the form reports and leaves out

For 2025 activity, compare the form's proceeds information with the sales, exchanges, and spends in your Binance.US history. The presence of a proceeds figure does not make the PDF a complete substitute for your transaction and purchase records.

The IRS says that for sales after 2025, custodial brokers report basis for covered digital assets acquired after 2025 and continuously held in that broker's custody through the sale (current figure at the IRS).

Basis is optional for noncovered assets and can be omitted under qualifying optional stablecoin or NFT methods. This IRS rule does not establish Binance.US's completed 2026 form workflow.

Assets transferred into Binance.US are noncovered for Form 1099-DA purposes. After a later sale, Binance.US need not report their basis. A blank basis field therefore does not mean the basis is zero.

What to check against your records

A form-versus-record check works best when you start with the document itself, not an estimated tax result. Use this working checklist:

  • Select tax year 2025 and confirm that the document says Form 1099-DA.
  • Note Binance.US as the issuer and compare the listed sale dates with the exported transaction history.
  • Compare proceeds with the corresponding sale, exchange, or spend entries.
  • Mark any asset that entered Binance.US through a deposit or transfer.
  • Find the original purchase record and the transfer or deposit record for each transferred-in asset.
  • Record the exact discrepancy and use the current Binance.US tax-support route if the documents still disagree.

Consider an illustrative record check: a customer bought coins at another service, deposited them into Binance.US, and later sold them there. The Form 1099-DA has a blank basis field. The customer should match the earlier purchase record to the deposit and later sale.

The blank field reflects noncovered transfer treatment; it is not evidence that the original purchase cost was $0.

Binance.US transaction history includes deposits and withdrawals, so export those entries with the sale history. The checklist helps organize evidence. It does not by itself determine that the form is erroneous.

Other forms and who receives them

Binance.US describes Form 1099-MISC for customers with $600 or more of qualifying 2025 income. It separately describes a $2,000 threshold for tax year 2026. Keep those tax years apart when reviewing account documents.

A 1099-MISC concerns the issuer's described qualifying-income category. It is not a replacement for Form 1099-DA after a reportable sale, exchange, or spend. The stablecoin and NFT carve-outs discussed above belong to the issuer's 1099-DA reporting description, not to a general rule that changes every income document.

If you received income and also disposed of digital assets, check each possible document against the activity that produced it. Do not use a rewards-income form as proof that a disposition was reported.

Corrections and support

Binance.US's supplied materials do not provide an issuer-specific correction sequence or turnaround time. Start by downloading the 2025 PDF and the transaction report again, then compare dates, proceeds, asset entries, deposits, and withdrawals.

Mark the disputed line and preserve the related purchase or transfer records. If the form and records still disagree, take that marked discrepancy to current Binance.US tax support. Do not assume that a blank basis field, a missing form, or a different total proves the document is wrong until the account history has been matched.

What this means for your filing

The narrow answer is clear: Binance.US says it issues a 2025 Form 1099-DA after a sale, exchange, or spend regardless of amount, subject to its separately described stablecoin and NFT methods. Buying and holding alone does not qualify.

That policy finding does not establish that one customer's form is accurate or complete. Binance.US identifies BAM Trading Services Inc. as its operator and self-reports NMLS ID 1906829 and a January 2026 SOC 2 Type II audit. Those are attributed company statements, not an independent finding of regulatory standing or platform safety.

Download the form and transaction history first.

Mark missing purchase or transfer records, then use reconcile missing cost basis and report reconciled sales on Form 8949 for the general next step.

If the documents disagree, take the marked discrepancy to Binance.US tax support.

Questions about Binance.US's form

Does a tiny Binance.US crypto sale still get a 1099-DA?

Binance.US states that a 2025 sale, exchange, or spend produces Form 1099-DA regardless of amount. Its separately described stablecoin and NFT methods have their own scope, including the specific stablecoin under-$10,000 condition and the $600 NFT threshold.

Why is there no 1099-DA if I only bought and held?

There is no 1099-DA under Binance.US's stated policy when the account only contains purchases and holdings. Review other account activity and your records because the absence of this form does not remove the need to account for taxable activity elsewhere.

Does a blank cost basis mean I paid nothing for coins I transferred in?

No. Assets transferred into Binance.US are noncovered, so the form may leave basis blank even though the original purchase had a cost. Match the earlier purchase record with the transfer or deposit record.

Does a 1099-DA prove Binance.US is safe to use?

No. A tax-form policy does not establish independent regulatory standing or platform safety. Binance.US's operator, NMLS ID, and January 2026 SOC 2 Type II statements are self-reported company information and should remain separate from the form review.

Start with the 2025 exchange 1099-DA directory to compare issuer-specific policies.

The eToro USA's taxable-activity condition covers a related no-form case, while Coinbase's proceeds and basis gap provides another record-reconciliation comparison.

Use reconcile missing cost basis for transferred-in records and report reconciled sales on Form 8949 for the general filing step.
